Emergency contact phone for Barth Syndrome

Please call 999 in the case of any life-threatening emergency. You may find the resources below useful if needing to be admitted into hospital urgently.

If You Are Unwell or in an Emergency:

  • If you feel unwell, contact your GP or call NHS 111.
  • If you are seriously unwell, call 999 or go to your local hospital and bring your Barth Management plan with you.
  • Your GP or hospital team can contact the Barth Syndrome Service for Barth Syndrome-specific advice.

Barth Syndrome Service

  • You can also also let the Barth Syndrome Service know that you are unwell by emailing BarthPatientsSupport@uhbw.nhs.uk if you have needed to see your GP or go to hospital, so we can check in to see how you’re doing.

  • Alternatively the Barth Syndrome Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) mobile phone is a voicemail and text-only service (Tuesday to Friday) which is checked once daily and you may also leave a message there."
